Kamen Rider Saber and Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger Crossover Film Announced

In celebration of Kamen Rider and Super Sentai‘s anniversaries, a crossover titled Saber + Zenkaiger: Superhero Senki has been announced.

This year marks two important anniversaries for Toei tokusatsu series. As a celebration of both series, a new crossover film titled Superhero Senki has been announced, and a teaser trailer has been released.

This new crossover film, full title Saber + Zenkaiger: Superhero Senki, commemorates the “double anniversary” of Kamen Rider and the Super Sentai Series.

As Kamen Rider Saber continues its run, Kamen Rider is celebrating its 50th anniversary with exciting projects that were announced last month such as an anime based on the Kamen Rider W sequel manga and the production of Hideaki Anno’s Shin Kamen Rider. Meanwhile, the Super Sentai Series is celebrating its 45th iteration (following last year’s 45th anniversary) with Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger.

The film’s producer, Shinichiro Shirakura provided the following comments:

“To us, Rider and Super Sentai can’t be spoken of as ‘history.’

The creators at the time didn’t want to create a past in the name of ‘history’, they wanted to create the future.

Unfortunately, those creators have been passing away these days.

It is the responsibility of this generation to convey their thoughts.

This movie is about the ‘now’ of Rider and Sentai– a story about Saber + Zenkaiger- while also telling a story about the full devotion those former creators spun.”

No details on the plot of the movie have been released, but a ticket pre-order bonus was announced. Those who buy advance tickets are eligible to receive a Kamen Rider Saber or Zenkaizer “Acrobat Dash Hero” toy. These are small figures of Saber riding his bike and Zenkaizer riding Juran Tyranno, and they will cling to the side of a soda can as they ride in a downward spiral.

The advance ticket bonuses will be limited to 25,000 units each. Advance tickets will be available starting Friday, June 4th. Tickets will cost 1,500 yen per adult and 900 yen per child.

Saber + Zenkaiger: Superhero Senki will have its theatrical release in Japan on July 22nd, 2021.
