Summary of Zi-O SG Watcher: Vol.23
Bandai’s candy toy blog posted a new entry for Kamen Rider Zi-O, beginning to reveal SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O: RIDE 7.
The man in charge of candy toy development goes by D, and in honor of Zi-O, he has changed his usual nickname to Di-O.
The blog post begins with the rundown of candy toy items that will be released throughout February:
- 4th: Kamen Rider Buttobasoul Hot Ramune 2
- 11th: SO-DO Chronicle: SO-DO Kamen Rider W
- 18th: Sound RideWatch Series: SG RideWatch 06
- 25th: SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O: RIDE 6 feat. SO-DO Kamen Rider Build
First reveal for the blog post is Kamen Rider Buttobasoul Hot Ramune 2 – this is the second wave of medals made for the Buttobasoul arcade game, which includes forms from the show and Energy Items done in the style of those seen in Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. Among their inclusions are Oma Zi-O, Kamen Rider Woz, and Zi-O’s recently revealed power-up called Kamen Rider Zi-O II.
“FutureTime: What’s that? That’s me, the ninja! FutureRing Shinobi-Shinobi!”
SO-DO Kamen Rider Zi-O continues its stride into the future as it reveals the first entry for RIDE 7: Kamen Rider Woz’s FutureRing Shinobi form.
A key focus on this form is the muffler on the back. It’s a separate piece that can be rotated to different positions for dynamic poses. Di-O makes specific mention that while most of the metallic purple is coming from stickers, the muffler is painted so that it may look its best.
Included with FutureRing Shinobi is the Zikan Despear in its sickle mode. Much like the previous variations of this weapon, it comes in two parts, placed at the top and bottom of Woz’s fist.
This will take of the number 3 slot in RIDE 7. Di-O makes sure to mention that although you can use this armor with the Action Body of Woz in RIDE 6, it seems that a duplicate will be included in RIDE 7. This bares mentioning since the Armor Changing bodies for Zi-O and Geiz seemed to be discontinued before the Rider Armor sets were complete.
After a long wait, the time has finally come for the SO-DO Chronicle line to debut in early February. This was a previously announced subline that provides SO-DO style figures for shows that predate the line – the first set to be released is SO-DO Kamen Rider W.
This set will play with the form change gimmick of Kamen Rider Double’s body, featuring figures that split down the middle and using the current SO-DO aesthetic of alternate hands. The wave includes Kamen Rider Double in both CycloneJoker and FangJoker forms, and Kamen Rider Joker.
FangJoker is revealed to have option parts for all of the enlarged spikes on the body. This includes a variation of Shoulder Fang which can be held in hand.
Meanwhile, between the two halves, Joker will come with a pair of hands for doing Double’s signature pose.
With that, Di-O concludes the blog post, mentioning that he’d like to talk more about CycloneJoker just before the set’s release. He also teases that Zi-O will power up, and that he will be revealing some surprising new information – the next post will be February 10th.
