Gokaiger’s Yuki Yamada will provide the voice of Captain Eboshi in the upcoming film One Piece Film: Red.
Yuki Yamada (Joe Gibken/Gokai Blue in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger) will provide the voice for Captain Eboshi, one of the Jellyfish Pirates. His character was designed by Eiichiro Oda, the original author of One Piece.
Yuki Yamada writes:
“I’m very happy to be a part of this film because I love the series. The word ‘happy’ doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel. Ever since I made my debut as an actor, it has been one of my dreams to be a part of One Piece, and now it’s really come true. Thank you so much. When I learned that my character Eboshi was designed by Mr. Oda himself, I became even more determined to do my voice recording. I believe he (Eboshi) is a strong captain of a pirate crew as he sailed past the Grand Line into the New World, so I portrayed the character with that in mind. There’s the moving story of Shank’s daughter, of course, but there’s also the splendid music artists that will truly make this film a ‘Musical Buster Call.’ We hope you enjoy the film in the theaters.”
One Piece Film: Red is set to be released in Japan on August 6, 2022. Crunchyroll and Toei Animation plan to distribute the film outside of Japan, with both subtitled and dubbed versions to screen in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand this fall.
