Ultraman Rising Coming to Anime Expo 2022

Ultraman will battle a kaiju invasion in multiple appearances at Anime Expo 2022 in the Ultraman Rising live event series throughout the convention.

In a project co-produced by Tsuburaya Productions and Iceberg Theory, Ultraman, Ultraseven, Dada, Alien Baltan, and various characters from the ULTRAMAN anime published by Netflix will appear in a live event series at Anime Expo 2022. The event series is called Ultraman Rising.

Tsuburaya claims that the Ultraman Arrives: Super Anime Extravaganza event will have information about the future of the Ultraman franchise. Specifically it is about the upcoming collaboration with Netflix and Industrial Light & Magic, and the future of the Ultraman comic book that is published with Marvel Comics.

There will also be an announcement for events relating to this year’s Ultraman Day, July 10, 2022.

This event has traveled around Japan for over a decade, and is the first time it will take place in United States. Jeff Gomez developed the interactive storyline for the Ultraman Rising event series. Gomez is the creative supervisor of Iceberg Theory’s Ultraman Connection international fan hub.

The event series consists of various panels, photo opportunities and live performances of Ultra Heroes fighting kaiju. There will also be a screening of a theatrical version of Netflix’s ULTRAMAN anime. Additionally, film distributor Iconic Events plans to make an announcement about the series.

Tsuburaya plans to release more information about Ultraman throughout the weekend of Anime Expo 2022.
