ULTRAMAN debuted as an anime adaption in 2019 from the ULTRAMAN manga which began serialization in 2011. The story begins 40 years after the events of the 1966 Ultraman TV show where Ultraman returned to the Land of Light and earth was peaceful. Shinjiro Hayata, the son of Shin Hayata, begins to realize he posses a strange ability and learns about the truth of Ultraman, becoming the new Ultraman to save earth from new invading aliens.

The Bag Clip series features 3D foam figures of several popular characters and kaiju from the anime. They are wrapped in a blind-box style with the chance of getting any of the characters, including two exclusive mystery characters. The characters include:

  • Ultraman
  • Shinjiro
  • Ace
  • Seiji
  • Seven
  • Dan
  • Rena
  • Bemular
  • Edo
  • Mystery Character 1 (revealed as Chase-Damaged Suit Ace)
  • Mystery Character 2 (revealed as Chase-Shin Hayata)

Attaching one of the clips to a bag is relatively easy, but bags with wide or thick straps may have some difficulty at first. The quality of the 3D foam figure is very sturdy and can outlast accidents or rough treatment. In my blind bag, I received the Ultraman 3D foam figure and was able to clip it on my laptop bag, though the aforementioned issue with wide straps did cause some difficulty. I look forward to showing off Ultraman and finding other fans to connect with when I use my bag.

The Ultraman Anime 3D Foam Bag Clip Series from Monogram International, Inc will be debuting in physical and online stores in North America soon. Notably, they will be available in various Hot Topic stores and online at Monogram Direct. To keep up-to-date on when these officially launch, Monogram is on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and YouTube.
