Noboru Kaneko and Kazuyoshi Sakai Celebrate Gaoranger’s 20th Anniversary

Noboru Kaneko and Kazuyoshi Sakai discuss and celebrate Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger‘s 20th anniversary in “Extra Quest ~Lion and Bull Talk~”.

Noboru Kaneko (Kakeru Shishi / Gao Red) and Kazuyoshi Sakai (Sotaro Ushigome / Gao Black) star in a special program, titled “Extra Quest ~Lion and Bull Talk~”, where they talk about and celebrate Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger‘s 20th anniversary.

The program is composed of five segments:

1. A special talk segment between Kaneko and Sakai where they discuss their careers over the past twenty years,
2. Showings of select Gaoranger episodes with commentary and behind-the-scenes insight,
3. A showing of v-cinema Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger vs Super Sentai,
4. Kaneko and Sakai’s thoughts regarding Zenkaiger and the Super Sentai series,
5. Details for a giveaway of nine signature boards signed by Kaneko and Sakai.

It’s Gaoranger‘s 20th anniversary?!

I want to shout about how pumped I am, but am I the only one feeling this way, just like before?

20 years later, I get to do this program with Sakai who leads Junretsu, and we gathered at the Tokyo International Film Festival and transformed. To think I was a ranger 20 years ago, and new toys are coming out (and I have two saved for myself). It really feels like there are a lot of ways to love Gaoranger– no, to love Super Sentai. Thank you so, so much!!

I am still here as an actor because of all of you.

I think Zenkaiger will really power through to make this a good year. Please continue to love Super Sentai. Your support is much appreciated.

Kazuyoshi Sakai’s Comment

There will be various events as well as new items for Gaoranger’s 20th anniversary this year, and I’m very grateful to all the fans out there supporting us. Thank you. With Zenkaiger, Super Sentai’s 45th series, coming in at full-throttle, we of Junretsu and Junretsuger want to really go wild on the big screen. Because of corona, the hearts of heroes need a strong foundation more than ever. Everyone, times may be hard now, but never give up! Never give up, and keep on trying!

Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger, Super Sentai’s 25th series, aired from 2000 to 2001. The Gaorangers borrow the powers of Power Animals to defend the Earth from the Orgs, monsters formed by evil thoughts and impulses.

“Extra Quest ~Lion and Bull Talk~” is available to watch on the Toei Tokusatsu YouTube Official channel until March 14.
