S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla vs. Kong Released

Tamashii Nations announced the latest releases in the S.H. MonsterArts figure line, the S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla and S.H. MonsterArts Kong from the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong film.

The S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla figure features the iconic King of Monsters teased in the latest Godzilla vs. Kong trailer. The figure measures 160 mm in height and comes with additional hands. It will feature a blue Atomic Breath metallic paint scheme. The figure is made from the data used in the film itself with the 3D modeling done by Yuji Sakai, the leading Godzilla modeler in Japan. The back fin light emission in the film is replicated with realistic metallic paint. Mitsuhiko Hosokawa, who had previously worked on past S.H. MonsterArts figures as well as the Ultra Monsters for the S.H. Figuarts Ultra Series line, came up with and implemented the moving mechanism for the figure, allowing it to move around just like in the film without disproportion.

The S.H. MonsterArts Kong features a fully grown King Kong years after the events of Kong: Skull Island. The figure measures 145 mm tall and includes his ax, replacement hands, and an extra head. Just like the S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla figure, the data from the actual movie was used to make it. The 3D modeler for this figure is Shinzen Takeuchi, an animal modeler. He started with the skeleton and then added the muscles and hair to give this figure a more realistic feeling seen in the film. Mitsuhiko Hosokawa also made the moving mechanism for this figure, allowing it to move around without breaking proportions.

The S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla and S.H. MonsterArts Kong figures from the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong film will go for 6,600 Yen (tax included) each and are scheduled for release in May 2021. Preorders are being accepted today.
