Godzilla And Mothra Coming To Magic: The Gathering

The Godzilla duo will soon be coming to Magic: The Gathering in the next expansion set for the trading card game.


Godzilla and Mothra will both be coming to Magic: The Gathering in the Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths expansion. The two Kaiju are playable creatures that can be collected through booster packs in this expansion. The cards will first be coming to the online games Magic: The Gathering Arena and Magic: The Gathering Online. The expansion will come to the physical version of the game in mid May.


The Godzilla, King of the Monsters card is a Legendary Creature – Dinosaur. Godzilla requires one mountain, one forest, and three additional mana to summon. He comes with the Trample ability and lethal damage that Godzilla does is determined by power instead of toughness.

Mothra, Supersonic Queen is a Creature – Insect card with flying. It requires two plain and two additional mana to summon. Creatures that the player control without flying, the card returns to the battlefield under the owner’s control. The card also receives a flying counter on it.


Also being added to the game is Spacegodzilla, Void Invader. The Spacegodzilla card is a Creature – Nightmare Horror card that requires two swamp mana and six additional mana to summon. Spacegodzilla has Deathtouch and Cycling which needs one swamp and two additional mana to activate.

Pre Orders for Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths are currently active. The expansion will first be available on Magic: The Gathering Arena and Magic: The Gathering Online on April 16th, 2020. MTG Arena is available free to download on the Epic Game Store. Magic: The Gathering Online can be downloaded through the official website. The expansion for the physical card game will release on May 15th, 2020.
