Kamen Rider Hibiki Heading To Blu-Ray

The 2005 installment in the Kamen Rider franchise, Kamen Rider Hibiki, releasing on Blu-Ray next year.

Twelve years after its premiere on TV Asahi, Kamen Rider Hibiki is getting a Blu-Ray release in January of next year featuring a new interview with Shigeki Hosogawa, who played Hibiki in the 48 episode series. Box 1 will retail for 17,800 yen and release on January 9, 2019, Box 2 will release on March 6, 2019, for the same price, and Box 3 will cost 19,800 yen and release on May 8, 2019.

Hosogawa commented on his thoughts on the impact of the series, stating that he hoped that the character’s catchphrase, “I’m training” was able to affect the kids watching the show who he hopes have grown into adults that still feel that training is important. He stated the importance of continuing to train one’s mind and body to strive towards the dreams of tomorrow, and that this idea is what the show and his character represent.

Airing from 2005-2006, the story of Kamen Rider Hibiki revolves around the titular character who utilizes sound as a weapon. The focus of the show is split between Hibiki’s battle against the giant Makamou monsters that roam the countryside of Japan and his mentoring relationship with Asamu Adachi, a high school student who looks up to Hibiki as a role model.
