A press conference was held in Tokyo on the 12th for the upcoming Kamen Rider Build movie.

Series star Atsuhiro Inukai, who plays Kiriyu Sento, says he thought about his past worries as a Rider and revealed his own growth, saying “I did the greatest transformation”.

Atsuhiro Inukai and Eiji Akaso (who plays Ryuga Banjo) were both asked what people should look forward to the most with the Kamen Rider Build movie. Inukai said, “When you’re talking about Kamen Rider, a lot of people think about the transformation”.

Inukai said he was a little worried at the start of filming (the series) because he did couldn’t pull off the transformation well.

Akaso also said he had trouble with transforming when his character finally became Cross-Z. At first, he would need to do over a dozen takes can now usually do it on the first few tries.

Director Kazuya Kamihoriuchi worked on Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FINAL Build and Ex-Aid with Legend Riders, a movie that featured many previous Kamen Rider actors returning, says Build was able to enter the fray with the feelings the Legend Riders and felt this movie has risen the overall level of the work.

Masanobu Katsumura, who plays a vital role in the movie, was worried about becoming a Kamen Rider as he will turn 55 in July. He recalls being asked by the director what to do about the transformation pose, to which he replied “It’s fine if I don’t have a pose”, which is something he now regrets, much to the amusement of his costars.

The movie will also have a scene which contains 3,000 extras, which is being called the largest use of extras in Kamen Rider franchise history.

Series producer Takahito Omori spoke about his thoughts regarding the movie’s title “Be the One”. “Be the One” is also the title of the show’s opening theme song and exquisitely expresses the themes of the movie and the show’s climax. In the TV series, Japan was split into three different countries but are now unified, just as the Kamen Riders, who were once enemies, have united together. Omori also says that Kiriyu Sento will finally take the form of the “only one” hero and that those who watch the movie will become aware of the hidden truth in “Be the One” when related to the origins of Build.

Kamen Rider Build: Be the One will open on August 4th alongside Kaito Sentai Lupinranger vs Police Sentai Patranger en film.
