009 RE:CYBORG 3D will have a screening at the Los Angeles Anime Film Festival on September 16th.
The Los Angeles Anime Film Festival (LA-AFF) will take place this weekend between Friday, September 15th and Sunday, September 17th. On September 16th, 009 RE:CYBORG 3D will be featured at LA-AFF in a screening from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. For those attending, this will take place at screen 10.
009 RE:CYBORG 3D follows the story of nine cybernetic heroes who gather for the first time in thirty years to investigate a string of suicide bombings. The heroes unite and must rediscover their role in the world and what it means to fight for justice. This movie was directed by Kenji Kamiyama who is known for directing and writing Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. A series based on the same Shotaro Ishinomori manga as this movie called CYBORG 009: Call of Justice is currently streaming on Netflix.
LA-AFF is the biggest anime film festival in North America, showcasing more than 20 anime films over the course of three days. Attendees can also enjoy other events in addition to screenings such as Q&A sessions and an opening night red carpet gala. This year, LA-AFF is celebrating 100 years of animation in Japan by arranging a lineup of films from throughout those 100 years that includes recent, popular anime a well as older masterpieces.
