Pacific Rim’s Ron Perlman Will Not Return in Sequel

Ron Perlman, who played Hannibal Chau in Pacific Rim, confirmed he will not be returning to the sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising.

Last week, in a panel at Motor City Comic Con, Ron Perlman confirmed he would not be reprising his role as Hannibal Chau in Pacific Rim: Uprising. In Pacific Rim, Hannibal Chau was a short-tempered, black-market dealer who sold dead Kaiju parts and assists Charlie Day’s character, Newton Geiszler, acquire a Kaiju brain to drift with.

Pacific Rim: Uprising stars John Boyega as the son of Stacker Pentecost, played by Idris Elba, and Cailee Spaeny as the female lead in the sequel.

The film is slated to premiere February 23, 2018.
