Fuuto PI Music Information Revealed
Artists Mitsuru Matsuoka and Aya Kamiki w/ TAKUYA return to perform music for the upcoming Fuuto PI anime. The anime will begin airing on August 8.
A new key visual and music information for the upcoming Fuuto PI anime was announced on May 3.
The text above reads, “Shotaro and Philip. These two detectives will be joined by one more.” This is in reference to Tokime, the woman standing between Shotaro and Philip in the visual and a character unique to the Fuuto PI story.
In addition, several music artists involved with the Kamen Rider W series will return to perform for Fuuto PI!
Theme Song “Tsumi to Batsu to Angura“
The theme song for the anime, “Tsumi to Batsu to Angura” (“Sin, Punishment, and the Underground”) will be sung by Kamen Rider W alumni Mitsuru Matsuoka and produced by Koji Kikkawa.
Matsuoka made his debut as Katsumi Daido / Kamen Rider Eternal in Kamen Rider W: A to Z Gaia Memories of Fate in addition to singing the theme song (“W”) of that movie. He also sang the theme song “code-E ~E no Angou” for the v-cinema Kamen Rider W Returns: Kamen Rider Eternal under his band SOPHIA, and he returned again to sing Kamen Rider Drive‘s opening song “SURPRISE DRIVE” under the name Mitsuru Matsuoka EARNEST DRIVE.
Koji Kikkawa is another iconic artist for the Kamen Rider W series, known for his role as Sokichi Narumi / Kamen Rider Skull. He sang his character’s song “Nobody’s Perfect” and the theme song “Heart∞Breaker” with Maki Ohguro (under the name Daikichi) for OOO & W featuring Skull: MOVIE Taisen CORE.
Remarks from Mitsuru Matsuoka
“This song is full of love for Fuuto PI and Kamen Rider W. I expect this song to pierce the hearts of fans of the tokusatsu and the anime. Please enjoy ‘Tsumi to Batsu to Angura‘!”
Remarks from Koji Kikkawa
“I produced this song and sang the chorus, and Mitsuru Matsuoka was in charge of the lyrics and main vocals. This song is explosive and has become a danceable ‘grown-up song.’ I would like everyone to enjoy this song. Kamen Rider is invincible!”
Opening Theme “PRIVATE EYE”
But Matsuoka and Kikkawa are not the only ones back for Fuuto PI! The opening theme, titled “PRIVATE EYE”, will be performed by the instrumental unit “Big Gadgets ft. Aya Kamiki w TAKUYA.” Aya Kamiki w TAKUYA sang “W-B-X ~W-Boiled Extreme~”, the opening to Kamen Rider W, and they last came back to sing “Over Again,” the theme song for the Playstation 4 / Nintendo Switch game Kamen Rider Memory of Heroez.
Remarks from Aya Kamiki
“Congratulations to Fuuto PI for the anime adaptation! I’m so pleased that Fuuto PI is beloved by fans of Kamen Rider W and that so many more people will get to love the anime. I pray that this work, one of the biggest of my life, will sparkle on the wind forever, throughout Japan and throughout the world.”
Remarks from TAKUYA
“I was born in 1971 just like the Kamen Rider series was, so I am also celebrating my 50th anniversary. I’m going to think that this was all fate. I had been looking forward to the day this offer would come ever since Fuuto PI began serialization. This is Kamen Rider W‘s 13th anniversary. May Aya Kamiki w TAKUYA pass through the city of Fuuto once again on the whirlwind of music.”
The Fuuto PI anime will begin streaming on Japan’s U-NEXT streaming service on Monday, August 1 at 12:00am (Japan Standard Time). It will begin its TV broadcast on the TOKYO MX network on Monday, August 8 at 10:00pm (JST).
