Toei Replaces Tatsuhisa Suzuki in Zenkaiger Role

Toei has confirmed Suzuki’s replacement via the credits of the show’s most recent episode.

The role of Gege, most commonly seen alongside the show’s main antagonist, will now be played by Masaya Fukunishi, replacing Tatsuhisa Suzuki in the role. Suzuki portrayed the character in the show’s first half before stepping down due to “mental health” reasons earlier this month. The  most recent episodes of Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger featured the character appearing without spoken dialogue.

Suzuki was previously cast as Taro in the upcoming second season of Netflix’s ULTRAMAN anime series, based on a manga of the same name from writer/illustrator duo Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi before excusing himself from the role.
