Gaoranger Festival Coming to Wakayama Marina City

A celebration of Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger’s 20th anniversary will be held alongside a stage show featuring its team.

Gaoranger Festival (“GaoFes” for short) was originally announced alongside the Zenkaiger VS Gaoranger Special Battle Stage live show. More details are now available for fans looking to celebrate Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger during its 20th anniversary.

Japan’s Wakayama Marina City will host GaoFes on August 15th. The festival will include 2 performances of Zenkaiger VS Gaoranger Special Battle Stage featuring the Gaoranger cast as well as talks with those cast members hosted by Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger’s Mika Kikuchi (Koume Kodou/DekaPink).

Kazuyoshi Sakai (Sotaro Ushigome/GaoBlack), a producer of the Zenkaiger VS Gaoranger live show, was involved in bringing this event to Marina City. Here’s what he had to say on the subject:

”20 years ago, wild fans from all across the country came to Kourakuen Amusement Park, connected by the Gaoranger Final Live Tour, to cheer on the Gaorangers. Those fans created the best memories.

When I learned that Toei fans from Kansai are still sad because there wasn’t a performance in Osaka, I thought, “So let’s do it!”

And what a surprise! The agreement was unanimous. I want to meet everyone. That’s all.

On August 15 at Wakayama Marina City’s Porto Europe Adventure Hall, I’ll be there for handshakes! Speaking from the heart, I along with the Gaorangers are waiting for you.”

The special stage shows will be held at 11 am and 4 pm JST. A short talk with the returning Gaoranger cast members will be held following those shows, and a longer talk will be held at 1:30 pm JST. All of the talks will be hosted by Kikuchi, and handshake sessions will be held after each of the three events.

Advance tickets can be purchased for 3,500 yen. Once again, GaoFes will be held on August 15th.
