Zenkaiger VS Gaoranger Special Battle Stage Running in August

Produced by GaoBlack actor Kazuyoshi Sakai, this live show brings Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger and Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger together.

Gaoranger actor and Junretsu member Kazuyoshi Sakai (Sotaro Ushigome/GaoBlack) is a producer of the upcoming Zenkaiger VS Gaoranger Special Battle Stage live show. This new crossover live show will begin running on August 1st in Japan’s Wakayama Marina City.

The “Battle Stage” series of live shows has been ongoing in Marina City since 2003’s Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger Battle Stage until the global coronavirus pandemic resulted in its cancellation. These shows feature special effects like wire work, pyrotechnics, lights and projectors.

Sakai stepped up to produce this year’s show in order to ensure the tradition of hero shows in Marina City could continue. He went so far as to check the venue in person himself and confirm what methods were being taken to protect against COVID-19. Sakai also had a hand in supervising the scriptwriting and directing as well as participating in stunt training.

On the show’s first day, Sakai will make an appearance to greet the audience and hold a photo session. Additionally, a special message from Junretsu (also directed by Sakai) will play as part of the pre-show leading into the event.

Since Gaoranger is also celebrating its 20th anniversary, an event called “Gao Fest” will be held on August 15th featuring the Gaorangers. This event will include an appearance by Sakai. He provided the following comment.

”They were very eager in asking me to come on because of my work as Junretsu’s leader, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to take on this kind of challenge. We are promising a proper, fiery hero show that will get your heart pumping and eager for more and more! And to do that, I think the brunt of my work is to draw out the professionals’ abilities and to draw people to Wakayama Marina City and the Battle Stage. So that we can have “G Rosso in the East” and “Wakayama Marina City in the West,” I want to put my focus into making this interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hero show on this scale of a stage before. To all attendees, please look forward to this show.”

Kazuyoshi Sakai is co-producing this show along with Kouji Horiuchi with a script by Mitsunori Machida. The director is Masaya Maeda, and Shougo Maeda is directing the action.

The show will run three times a day at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm JST on the following days:
