Discotek Media to Release Cutie Honey: The Live on Blu-ray
DVD and Blu-ray publisher Discotek Media will be releasing the full series of Cutie Honey: The Live on Blu-ray by early 2022.
Discotek Media announced through Twitter on Aug. 8th, 2021, that the company will be releasing Cutie Honey: The Live in Blu-ray. The set will be available by the end of 2021 or by early 2022. This is the first international release of the series in high definition.
Cutie Honey: The Live is a 2007 series based on a 1973 manga. The series follows Honey Kisaragi, played by Mikie Hara, a 16-year-old android who seeks to avenge her father’s death at the hands of the Panther Claw organization. Using the “Honey System” implanted in her, she is able to become Cutie Honey.
The Blu-ray release from Discotek will include all 26 episodes in Japanese with English subtitles and include behind-the-scenes information.
Other releases from Discotek include Tetsujin 28: Morning Moon of Midday, Arpeggio of Blue Steel, Konosuba! and various Lupin the Third films.
Additionally, Discotek said that as the release of Cutie Honey: The Live has yet to be finalized, more items may be included in the set. Special items included in other Discotek releases have included translation notes, commentaries from crew members, art galleries and more.

It’s a pretty wild flex. But I wonder if the fact it’s on Bluray and given that American discs work on Japanese players means that this release will be on the pricey side? I’m thinking back to the days of Bandai Visual USA. Fans were complaining about their prices as compared to releases from BEI, Funimation and such and that was basically their defense—reverse importers.
