Kamen Rider Ghost’s Akihiro Mayama Retires From Acting

An announcement was made on Akihiro Mayama’s website stating he is stepping away from acting.


It was announced on September 1st that Akihiro Mayama would be retiring from the entertainment industry, the announcement was made via his official website.

Fans would remember Mayama as the villainous Adel from Kamen Rider Ghost. Outside of tokusatsu, he was also featured in many films, television shows, and stage plays since starting his career in 2006.

The announcement included a statement from the agency Mayama worked for which said talks of retirement had been on the table for a while, but they were supportive of his decision to exit the industry. They thanked fans for their support of Mayama and the work he has done over the years.

Mayama had this to say in the announcement, “I’ve decided to break away from performing arts and take a new path. Thank you to my fans and those who have supported me in my work. I will use my experiences in the industry in new ways. Thank you all so much!”
