Marvel Comics unveils first trailer for their updated take on the original Ultraman series

Marvel Comics and Tsuburaya Productions have revealed a motion comic trailer for the first edition of the upcoming THE RISE OF ULTRAMAN comic which you can check out below. At least two variant covers will be released for the comic with art by Alex Ross and Olivier Coipel, with Spider-Man being featured alongside Ultraman in the latter. The story will be a retelling of the original 1966 Ultraman plot involving Shin Hayata and his bond with Ultraman as they battle the kaiju that threaten the peace of the earth. The video describes the comic as follows:

In darkness there lurks Kaiju – terrifying and unfathomable monsters. Kyle Higgins (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Mat Groom (Self/Made) and Francesco Manna (AVENGERS) reimagine the classic origin of a pop culture icon as THE RISE OF ULTRAMAN begins!

The first issue of THE RISE OF ULTRAMAN will go on sale in September at local comic retailers and online via the Marvel Comic app.
