Kamen Rider Zero-One Casts Mao Ichimichi as the Voice of Ai

Super Sentai alum Mao Ichimichi will be making her Kamen Rider voice acting debut in Zero-One as the friend-type A.I. character, Ai.

An upcoming episode of Kamen Rider Zero-One is set to include a new friend-type A.I. called Ai. This new character will be voiced by Mao Ichimichi in her Kamen Rider series debut. Mao has a long history of with the Super Sentai series going back to Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger as Luka Millfy/Gokai Yellow. Since being cast as a Gokaiger, she’s also appeared in Uchu Sentai Kyuranger as the voice of Raptor 283/Washi Pink, and most recently Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger as the voice of Kishiryu Chibigaroo.

Ai is the first new artificial intelligence creation of Aruto Hiden’s new company, Hiden Manufacturing. Designed to simply listen to humans and give them advice, Ai is not made to look human like the HumaGear units. Below are Mao’s comments on the role.

Tell us how you felt when you were told you’d appear on Kamen Rider Zero-One.

“It is the first time I’d appear on Kamen Rider so I was really happy. Playing the voice of an AI felt difficult, but I looked forward to explore how to do it.”

What are the attractive points of the Friend type Artificial Intelligence, “Ai”?

“Since it is a Friend type AI, I paid attention to have a frank demeanor while also keeping a leveled, not too close distance with the other person. I played it picturing a friend that would listen objectively to what you had to say and then provide sharp, on-point advice.”

Please send a message to the viewers!

“I felt that Ai is a very interesting character that can bring out the real self of people and give them the push they need. I hope you can check out the conversation scenes with Ai. Thank you!”

Mao’s character, Ai, will appear this weekend on episode 36 of Kamen Rider Zero-One.
