To celebrate the upcoming Robocon movie, Toei is releasing a special bundle of Ganbare!! Robocon DVDs.

For the first time in 20 years, Toei’s classic character, Robocon, will be returning to Japan in theaters. Toei is celebrating the new film, Ganbareiwa!! Robocon, with a DVD collection bundle featuring the original series, Ganbare!! Robocon.

Ganbare!! Robocon follows the titular robot as he stumbles through living with and helping humans. This is part of his studies at the Gantz’ Robot Academy. The original series aired from October 1974 to March 1977. The DVD bundle includes five volumes with commentary.

Additionally, the V-Cinema crossover, Moero!! Robocon vs. Ganbare!! Robocon is being re-released on DVD alongside the original show. This V-Cinema features the original version of Robocon meeting Robocon from the 1999 reboot series, Moero!! Robocon. The Ganbare!! Robocon DVD collection will cost 8,000 yen while Moero!! Robocon vs. Ganbare!! Robocon will be available as a standalone purchase for 2,500 yen.

Both the DVD collection and the V-Cinema are set to release on July 8th ahead of the new movie. Ganbareiwa!! Robocon is set to release in theaters on July 31st.
