Toei Releases First Trailer For Gozen Movie Production
The jidageki film starring several tokusatsu alumni will premiere this summer.
Toei has released the first trailer for the jidageki (period piece) movie, GOZEN: The Sword of Pure Romance, which you can check out below. Announced earlier this year, the film is part of the Toei Movie and Stage project and will be directed by Hidenori Ishida (Kamen Rider Kuuga, Hibiki, Kabuto) and written by Keiko Utsumi. The cast list has been posted and hosts an extensive list of tokusatsu alumni:

The word “gozen” in the title is in reference to a must-win feudal game held in the presence of a Daimyo during the feudal era in Japan. The stage play will share a few core cast members with the movie and will debut in September of this year. The movie will be released in Japanese theaters on July 5, 2019.
