HIDIVE Partners with VRV Streaming Service
Online streaming service that carries several tokusatsu titles including Garo partners with VRV
This week, it was announced that the HIDIVE streaming service would now be partnering up with anime subscription service VRV. The announcement comes on the heels of Funimation ending their partnership with Crunchyroll and subsequently VRV earlier this week. Although this means that VRV will no longer share a library with Funimation, it does means that VRV users will now have access to HIDIVE’s library of over 500 titles, which also includes access to several Godzilla movies as well as the Garo TV series and movies that have been released stateside to date by Kraken Releasing.
As previously reported, HIDIVE added the two-part special GARO: Beast of the Demon Night to their roster earlier this month. VRV has been making headway into the tokusatsu market by allowing its viewers to stream Shout Factory’s release of Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger on its platform. With Crunchyroll making the recent announcement that it will no longer carry several Ultra series on its site, this partnership will now effectively provide VRV users with access to one of the most diverse collections of legal streaming tokusatsu on the internet.
A spokesperson for VRV has stated the HIDIVE library will be available on VRV “within the next few weeks.”
