Kamen Rider W’s Masaki Suda Cast in Live Action Archimedes no Taisen Film

Masaki Suda, known as Philip in Kamen Rider W, is cast in a new live-action film, Archimedes no Taisen.

On July 16, it was revealed by the staff of the live-action adaptation of Archimedes no Taisen (The Great War of Archimedes) manga that the main role of the film would be played by Masaki Suda. The manga is written by Norifusa Mita and is set in 1933.

Masaki Suda has played numerous lead roles over the years, including Kuranosuke Koibuchi in Kuragehime, and Karma Akabane in Assassination Classroom. He is most notable for playing the left half of Kamen Rider W, Philip. This was his first acting role and was what initially brought him critical acclaim in the industry. He recently reunited with the fellow main cast member, Renn Kiriyama, for the release of the Kamen Rider W manga which debuted last year.

The character Masaki Suda will play in the film is Tadashi Kai, a Major who is a mathematical genius that wages his own war to uncover the truth behind a series of budget irregularities regarding the construction of warships. The plot involves the Imperial Japanese Navy outlining their plans with the second World War. The manga was originally launched in November 2015.

The film will be directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who is also scripting and directing visual effects with the film.

Archimedes no Taisen will premiere in Summer 2019.
