Shinichirô Shirakura Announces Discontinuation of Super Hero Taisen Films

Toei’s Director of Planning and Production Shinichirô Shirakura announces the discontinuation of “Spring” movies for the Kamen Rider and Super Sentai franchises on Twitter.

Recently, on the social media platform Twitter, Toei’s Director of Planning and Production Shinichirô Shirakura announced the discontinuation of “Spring” movies for the Kamen Rider and Super Sentai franchises. These “Spring” movies are generally known as the Super Hero Taisen films.

On Twitter, Shirakura stated:

“We do not intend to do “Spring” movies. The “FINAL” on this one’s title refers to this as well and it concentrated the efforts for both the Winter and Spring movies.
The Amazons movie is part of another thing, separate from the main Rider movies. We would like to bring something impressive.”

The “FINAL” Shirakura was referring to was the Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FINAL: Build & Ex-Aid with Legend Riders film, which opened on December 9th at #1 for the Japanese box office. Additionally, the “Amazons movie” is reference to the recently announced Kamen Rider Amazons – Final Chapter film that is set for Spring 2018, the same opening frame for the previous “Spring” films.

What? This reads like machine translation. At least get a proper editor. The meaning of the tweet is not clear at all, and thus puts further doubts on this “announcement”.

Is the tweet saying that the winter movies for Kamen Rider and Super Sentai also aren’t happening? Or is it referring to both Heisei Generations and Super Hero Taisen ending and that the effort that would go into both Generations and SHT ended up going into one movie, the final Generations one?

Though I myself find the translation wording for the tweet to be confusing, I’m not going to disrespect you or your hard work as editor like the other person did. That wasn’t necessary for them to do at all. :/
