During a staff talk show for the film Kamen Rider x Super Sentai: Chou Super Hero Taisen, Shinichiro Shirakura teased an announcement for Kamen Rider Den-O amidst its 10th anniversary.
A staff talk show for Kamen Rider x Super Sentai: Chou Super Hero Taisen was held on April 7th in Tokyo, Cinema Shinjuku Wald 9.
In part 1 of the talk show, producer of Kamen Rider Ghost – Takahashi Kazuhiro, producer of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid– Takahito Oomori, and producer of Uchu Sentai Kyuranger – Taku Mochizuki appeared to talk about the film. To the question “What is your favorite scene in the film?”, Mochizuki answered “Amu-chan’s ‘Try-Try!’. She’s so cute!”. In this film, suit actor Satoshi Fujita played Zyuoh Tiger instead of Ayumi Shimozono who played the character in the TV series. When Takahashi revealed “Fujita was being pissed – ‘I don’t know how to work on a character when I’m told to do it the night before!’ “, Mochizuki laughed and answered “He was so good at it! I thought he was amazing since I didn’t notice!”.
Takahashi’s favorite character is Kuroto Dan, played by Tetsuya Iwanaga. He mentioned , “In some filming, the director’s instructions are funny. He says ‘Kuroto! That wasn’t funny! Make it more funny!’. I thought ‘They treat him the same way as Onari! (From Ghost)'”.
After the end of the film, the teaser of the Summer films were shown. Oomori mentioned, “It will be the real ending. I’ve heard that some people are thinking it’s gonna be like Ryuki but it’s a little different than that. I’m trying to make the movie into something which makes the viewers see the film in a different way after watching each episode every week on TV”. Mochizuki added “We want to make this something you can’t watch on TV. Since the Kyurangers are settling down a little in Earth at the moment, we want to make them jump to space!”. With this comment, Takahashi asked “Is there a special reason (to why they’ve been staying in Earth for so long)?” and Mochizuki answered “I want to save Earth! Earth has a big reason, and we’ll be revealing that so please be excited for it!”.
In part 2 of the talk show, along with Takahashi, the director of the film – Osamu Kaneda and the producer of Kamen Rider Den-O, Kamen Rider Amazons, etc – Shinichiro Shirakura appeared. They revealed stories such as when Kaneda yelled out ‘The bad one right there!’ and everyone there answered ‘Yes!’. They also mentioned that Kaneda got in trouble with the staff during the filming of the scene where the enemies appeared as he pointed to Genis’s back part (from Zyuohger) saying “That thing’s in the way, do we really need it?”. Also during the filming, Kaneda said: ‘Hello, nice to meet you!” to Atsushi Maruyama who played Utsusemimaru/Kyoryu Gold even though they’ve met each other before. Maruyama tried to explain that they’ve met each in the voice recordings of Kamen Rider x Super Sentai x Uchuu Keiji Super Hero Taisen Z, Kaneda shook his hand and said “Good to know you! You’re a cicada!”. The symbol “semi” in Utsusemimaru means cicada – 空「蝉」丸.
To the question “If you were to select your own Hero Team?”, as a Den-O lover Kaneda answered “It’ll be Den-O. The tough-guy way he talks, and I just love the possession thing.” Den-O will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year. As Den-O’s Blu-ray box will be released soon, Shirakura commented “With Den-O, I hope we are able to announce something this year.” Kaneda yelled out “Let me direct it!”. With the question “If you were to select your own Hero Team?’, Shirakura answered “It’s gotta be Seiji Takaiwa!”. As a suit actor, Takaiwa has played many roles including Ex-Aid, Momotaros and many more, and Shirakura has commented with passion “In the test filming, he doesn’t have the mask on and in the actual filming he has the mask on but he looks so cool in the test!”. He also revealed that there are many fans of Takaiwa in the Toei company.
The event ended with Kaneda commenting “Work is created from everyone’s blood and sweat. And having everyone gathering up to watch it gives us energy. Please support us from now on too.”
Kamen Rider Zeronos actor, Yuichi Nakamura tweeted about the event, showing excitement and looking forward to the Kamen Rider Den-O announcement, “What are they gonna announce????? I’m interested… too…I’m looking forward to it “.
