Hurricane Polymar

The latest trailer for the upcoming Hurricane Polymar movie has been posted online.

Hurricane Polymar is based on the 1974 TV anime series from Tatsunoko, who are celebrating their 55th anniversary this year with this project and the CGI anime Infini-T Force later this year.

The movie stars Junpei Mizobata as the titular Hurricane Polymar, otherwise known as Takeshi Yoroi. Also in the cast are Yuki Yamada (Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger) as Joichi Kuruma, Mikie Hara (Cutey Honey THE LIVE, Kamen Rider Fourze) as Rei Hieda/Polymar Artemis, Yurina Yanaga as Teru Minami, and Satoshi Jinbo as Akito Yashiro.

The story follows street fighter turned detective Takeshi Yoroi who uses his martial arts skills to transform into the titular hero and fight evil. In preparation for the role, Mizobata underwent four months of intense martial arts training.

The filming is directed by Koichi Sakamoto (Ultra Galaxy Legends, Kamen Rider Fourze) and written by Shinsuke Onishi (Daimajin Kanon, Tomica Hero Rescue Force, Gatchaman Crowds)

Hurricane Polymar will be released on May 13th in Japanese theaters.
