Lupin III Part 4’s Yuya Takahashi to Write Kamen Rider Ex-Aid
The story and staff for Kamen Rider Ex-Aid have been revealed.
Kamen Rider Ex-Aid will serve as the 45th anniversary of the franchise and is describe as a “Battle game with twists happening in the real world”
Takahito Ohmori will produce the show. Ohmori was previously the chief produder on Kamen Rider Drive and Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. Sasaki Motoi from TV Asahi is credited as chief producer. Yuya Takahashi will serve as head script writer. Takahashi previously wrote the Type Tokujo specials for Kamen Rider Drive. He has written various J-Dramas as well as the Sentai-inspired Eight Ranger movies and served as the head writer on last year’s Lupin the III Part 4. This will be Takahashi’s first full tokusatsu series. Shojiro Nakazawa, head director on Juuken Sentai Gekiranger, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, Kamen Rider Wizard, Ressha Sentai ToQger, and Shuriken Sentai Ninninger will direct.
The series revolves around a Rider who fights video game viruses that manifest themselves in the real world.
Ex-Aid has two forms to begin with. The small, super deformed form will be called Level 1 and save people infected by the Bugstar computer viruses. Level 2, the traditional Rider form, will battle with the Bugstars once they have been extracted from their hosts and materialize in the real world.
The show will also contain unique imagery iconic to video games such as damage and attack meters.
Ex-Aid will appear on screen for the first time in Kamen Rider Ghost: The 100 Eyecons and Ghost’s Fateful Moment movie before premiering in his own show in October.
