A new comic book miniseries, Godzilla: Rage Across Time, is set to be released by IDW.
First appearing in the iconic 1954 movie of the same name, Godzilla is a giant monster born of radiation that has enjoyed many film installments and interpretations. The latest spin of the tale takes Godzilla back in time.
Each issue will have a different directive team, and for issue #1, the creative team that brought us the Godzilla inspired Project: Nemesis, writer Jeremy Robinson and artist Matt Frank, will be bringing the debut issue to life.
Godzilla: Rage Across Time is a five part anthology that puts the iconic kaiju into different time periods. The series is to explore different origins of myths, but with a kaiju twist. The synopsis of the series is as follows:
“Move over dinosaurs… monsters used to rule the planet! Travel to different time periods to examine the origin of myths that fueled nightmares! In this first installment, Godzilla brings his terror to feudal Japan!”
The first issue will be released in August of 2016, there will also be a subscription variant drawn by artist Matt Frank in a more violent style of Hokusai’s The Great Wave off Kanagawa.
