Kamen Rider Drive Actress, Rio Uchida, Stars in “Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw” Live-Action Film

Last week, Kamen Rider Drive actress, Rio Uchida, was announced as the lead for the upcoming Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw live-action film.

Rio Uchida, known for her role as Kiriko Shijima in Kamen Rider Drive, will play the film’s main character, Geeko Nokomura.

Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw is a manga series created by Rei Mikamoto in 2009. Mikamoto also created Reiko the Zombie Shop, which was published in North America by Dark Horse in 2005.

As stated by Anime News Network:

The original [Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw] manga centers around Geeko Nokomura, who is in a lone struggle to confront her classmate Nero Aoi, who has turned all of their classmates into zombies. To get to her, Geeko cuts down all of her former classmates.

The film is written by Mitsunori Fukuhara and directed by Hiroki Yamaguchi. The film is slated to premiere January 2016.
