Kodansha Opening Manga Gallery at S.F. J-POP SUMMIT
Kodansha is launching a special gallery event to commemorate their new San Francisco offices and digital publishing initiative.
Kodansha Ltd. is the publisher of the popular Attack on Titan and Fairy Tail manga, among many others. Their Kodansha Advanced Media subsidiary is focused on digital content, and is opening a gallery during the 2015 J-POP SUMMIT to showcase just that. The gallery will feature exhibits that take advantage of the latest technology, including innovative cameras and virtual reality.
Admission is free, and visitors will be able to digitally interact with the exhibits. With RICOH’s THETA camera, which takes 360-degree photos, viewers see the Colossal Titan display in a whole new light. Attendees will also be able to test the worlds first eye-tracking VR headset from FOVE, and use it as a virtual reality comics reader. Fans unable to attend can view the Online Gallery at Kondansha’s site.
Kodansha’s new offices, located at Digital Garage’s Startup Incubation Center at 717 Market St., San Francisco, CA, will be host to The Kodansha Comics Manga Gallery from Friday August 7th, to Sunday August 9th, from 10AM to 6PM each day. The J-POP SUMMIT, a massive celebration of Japanese popular culture with music, film, and tech guests, will be held that Saturday and Sunday.
