Leader of the K-Pop group CROSS GENE, Shin, has been cast in an episode of Shuriken Sentai Ninninger.

CROSS GENE, whose agency is Japan based AMUSE INC. which houses many former tokusatsu actors including Shu Watanabe (Kamen Rider OOO), Ryo Yoshizawa (Kamen Rider Meteor), Atsushi Hashimoto (Magi Red in Mahou Sentai Magiranger) and many more, is a multinational group which includes 1 Japanese member.

Shin, with a certificate in the Japanese Level Proficiency Test N2, will be playing an actor called Silver who comes to Japan to play Dracula. When he got the role, Shin said, “This is dreamlike chance for me, so I’ll put all my effort during the filming.”

Ever since he was young, Shin has always loved Japanese anime, manga and Tokusatsu. He’s still a fan of Super Sentai and Kamen Rider and still tries to master transformation poses and even knows the lyrics to many songs.

Shin has expressed his love for the Tokusatsu genre by wearing a Kamen Rider Den-O belt during CROSS GENE’s movie Zedd and has worn a Kamen Rider Drive belt during a stage show promotion for their movie.

Capture This is the first time a Korean has been cast in a Super Sentai series. The episode will air August 16.
