Keiichi Hasegawa To Write For Kamen Rider Drive
Ultra Series veteran Keiichi Hasegawa has been announced as the secondary writer for Kamen Rider Drive.
Hasegawa has had the honor of writing for nearly every Ultraman series since Tiga. In addition to the scripts of all three 90s crossover films as well as all Tiga films (Tiga & Dyna, Tiga, Dyna, Gaia: Battle In Hyperspace, and Tiga: The Final Odyssey), Hasegawa has also served as chief writer of Ultraman Nexus, the secondary writer for both Kamen Rider W, writing 22 episodes for that show, as well as various Kamen Rider Fourze episodes, and was the screenwriter of Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: All Monsters All-Out Attack.
TV Asahi producer Motoi Sasaki has also mentioned that the crime solving aspect of the series is meant to be completed within the frame of single episodes. It was also mentioned that Taikou Katoono, the actor for Chase, had auditioned for Kamen Rider in the past.
Kamen Rider Drive will begin its broadcast in Japan on October 5th, taking over Kamen Rider Gaim’s current time slot.

I’m pretty sure he didn’t say anything about the cases being solved in one episode.. In the official press release (which the Yahoo article paraphrases) I think he said “it’s easy to see the unique ‘solving mysteries and resolving cases’ police drama aspect in the complete first episode.”

I assume you’re referring to the press release on Toei’s site? “刑事ドラマならではの謎解きや事件ドラマもあり、1話完結で見やすく” – The crime solving and drama that are traditional of detective stories are solved in a single episode, making it easy to watch. 1話完結で見やすく doesn’t mean that it will be easily seen in the completed episode one. It’s that it will easy to watch it conclude in one episode.
