Characters & Crew Revealed For GARO Anime

The Garo Project website recently revealed the character names and descriptions for the upcoming GARO anime slated for September.

The official character descriptions and their voice actors are as follows:

Leon Lewis (Daisuke Namikawa; Gatchaman: Crowds, Fairy Tail, Fate/Zero)
A youth entrusted with the title of Golden Knight Garo. His mother, the Makai Priestess Anna was burned to death, and due to this terrible memory, his armor can go berserk and engulf him into flames.

Herman Lewis (Kenyu Horiuchi; Cowboy Bebop, One Piece)
Entrusted with the title of Makai Knight Zoro. He saved a just born Leon and escaped to raise him as a knight. Irresponsible and uninhibited, loves women.

Alfonso San Valiante (Katsuhito Nomura; CODE-E)
Prince of the Valiante kingdom. He had to flee his own country along with his mother due to Mendoza’s plot. He’s traveling in search of the legendary hero, the Knight of Light to save his country.

Emma Guzman (Romi Park; Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger)
Makai priestess with great magical powers. For some reason she has a particular dislike for Makai Knights, hence, she acts alone. She seems to make the same movements as Leon and the others but her objective seems to be different.

While a specific air date has yet to be announced, there will be a free special pre-screening event in Japan slated for September 18th. The pre-screening tickets, though free, will be given away by lottery.

Now if only they tell us how the GARO armor was passed on from the Saejimas to the Lewis’s or be placed on that island in Yami wo Terasu Mono that’ll be nice.

  We don’t need to know. It does, we know it does as we’ve seen it.
  
  As an audience we don’t need to be spoon fed everything. We don’t need to waste time on setting up things like that which are essentially pointless save for letting fans add up continuity. I see that all the time in the comic book fandom, and I’m glad Marvel, at least, others not so much, have stopped catering to them.
  
  What would a five or ten minute scene where they explain that stuff bring to the show? Nothing. What does it even matter how Garo ends up with them, or on the island?

Interesting. Feels like it’s going to be backwards in time. I read that we weren’t really sure when this was, past or future, but the medieval theme seems to suggest it’s back a bit.

Interesting to see the names, too. Distinctly not Japanese.
