Dramatization About Life of Shotaro Ishinomori to Air During This Year’s 24-Hour TV Special
Kento Nakajima, member of the boy band Sexy Zone, will star in an upcoming TV special based on the life of Shotaro Ishinomori.
The special will air this August and follow the life of Shotaro Ishinomori, creator of numerous titles including Cyborg 009, Kamen Rider, and Super Sentai. The special will pay close attention to his relationship with his older sister, who played an important role in his life. Commenting on the role, Nakajima says Ishinomori created heroes who were loved by everyone and become a hero in his hometown. Nakajima is feeling enthusiasm for the role despite being a little worried about stepping into the feet of the so-called “King of Manga”.
In preparation for the role, Nakajima visited Ishinomori’s hometown and even the desk where we penned manga of his most famous titles, feeling a great sense of pressure from standing in such a historic spot.
The 24-hour TV event will air from August 25th to the 26th.
