Godzilla Project Mechagodzilla Novel Announced

The prequel novel for the upcoming second film in the Godzilla anime film trilogy to be released on April 25th. 


The official website for the Godzilla 3D CG-animated film trilogy announced Godzilla Project MechaGodzilla, a prequel novel for the upcoming second film in the trilogy that is titled Godzilla – Decisive Battle: Mobile Breeder City.

 

Renji Ōki will return to write the novel with Gen Urobuchi (Kamen Rider Gaim), who is in charge of the film trilogy’s story and screenplay, reprising his role as supervisor for the novel. Moreover, the titular Mechagodzilla will be the center of the novel, which will tackle questions such as “Why did mankind have to throw away Earth?” and “What did mankind see the day before the destruction of Earth?”.

Godzilla Project MechaGodzilla is set for a release date of April 25th, 2018.

Godzilla – Decisive Battle: Mobile Breeder City is being helmed by Kobun Shizuno (Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare, Fist of the North Star: The Legend of Kenshirō ) and Hiroyuki Seshita (Ajin, Knights of Sidonia) , with Gen Urobuchi writing the script. Additionally, Polygon Pictures and Toho Animation are handling the animation. It is set to open on May 18th, 2018.
