Kraken Releasing Licenses Original Garo Series in US

The 2005 original Tokusatsu series, Garo, planned for 2017 distribution by Kraken Releasing.

Section 23’s Kraken Releasing announced at the Monsterama fan convention in Atlanta, GA that they have licensed the 2005 Garo TV series for US release. The 25-episode series, created by renowned character designer and director Keita Amemiya, was the first in the Garo franchise, which has gone on to spawn five further tokusatsu seasons and two anime seasons, as well as various theatrical films.

Kraken also revealed plans to release further installments from the Garo franchise. Further information has yet to be announced. Kraken Releasing is known for distributing films in the Godzilla franchise such as Godzilla vs The Sea Monster, Godzilla vs Hedorah, Godzilla vs Gigan, and most recently, The Return of Godzilla.
