Cyborg 009: Call of Justice Trilogy to Premiere This Fall
New film trilogy based on Shotaro Ishinomori’s manga to launch later this year.
Kenji Kamiyana, director and writer of 2012’s 009 Re:Cyborg, will return to the franchise to serve as the general manager for the three part film installment, Cyborg 009: Call of Justice. Koudai Kakimoto will serve as director.
The original story centers on Blessed, an organization that has existed throughout time and dispatches a team of cyborgs into war zones to protect humanity.
The three part CGI film will contain an original story and be screened at theaters for two week limited engagements starting this November.
Cyborg 009 is a manga series that began in 1964 and was created by Shotaro Ishinomori, who went on to create Kamen Rider and Super Sentai franchises. There have been six animated movies and three TV series. The characters most recently appeared in the three part OVA series Cyborg 009 vs Devilman.
The first of Cyborg 009: Call of Justice trilogy premieres on November 25th, part 2 premieres on December 2nd, and part 3 will premiere on December 9th.
