Ultraman Z’s Full English Dub Cast Revealed

A brand new English dub for Ultraman Z released in early April, with new episodes airing weekly.


On April 2nd, Tsuburaya Productions announced the upcoming release of an English dub for Ultraman Z. The dub began airing on April 8th, and is produced by Okatron 5000; who previously worked with Tsuburaya on the English dub of Shin Ultraman. The main cast of Ultraman Z includes:

  • Zeno Robinson as Haruki Natsukawa
  • Matt Shipman as Ultraman Z
  • Mick Lauer as Shota Hebikura (Jugglus Juggler)
  • Mallorie Raddick as Yoko Nakashima
  • Macy Anne Johnson as Yuka Ohta
  • Brittany Lauda as Kanegon

The English cast includes a variety of renowned anime voice actors including Zeno Robinson; most well-known for playing Hawks in My Hero Academia. Alongside him, Matt Shipman has also appeared in My Hero Academia, Garo Vanishing Line, SSSS.Gridman, and even Okatron 5000’s dub for Shin Ultraman. He also serves as a writer for Ultraman Z‘s dub. Mick Lauer’s voice acting career spans over 100 credits, with his most famous role being Abbachio in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Both Mallorie Raddick and Macy Anne Johnson appeared in supporting voice roles for SSSS.Gridman; with Raddick having also appeared in Garo: The Animation and Garo: Vanishing Line.

Regarding supporting voices and production roles, the prolific Christopher Sabbat, most famous for his various voice roles in the Dragon Ball franchise, serves as executive producer and narrator for the series. ADR direction as well as mixing is being handled by Rawly Pickens. Meanwhile, Brittany Lauda of Darling in the Franx and Pokemon X/Y fame not only plays Kanegon, but is also the casting director and line producer. These three all had similar production roles for the dub of Shin Ultraman. Meanwhile, Ben Balmaceda, whom has appeared in Attack on Titan and SSSS.Dynazenon is a production assistant and also provides additional voices in some later episodes of Ultraman Z.

Following the premiere of episode one, numerous other voice actors were revealed including:

  • Sean Schemmel as Ultraman Zero
  • Mike Dent as STORAGE AI
  • Howard Wang as Shinya Kaburagi
  • Kamran Nikhad as Gilvalis
  • Ben Phillips as Director Kuriyama
  • Kent Williams as Kojiro “Bako” Inaba
  • Jim Fordona as Ultraman Taro

When the first episode premiered, many fans were surprised to discover that Sean Schemmel; most famous for playing Goku in the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball, was the new English voice for Ultraman Zero. Another pleasant surprise is that Mike Dent, a former writer and current friend of Team TokuNet would be a part of the English cast. Alongside him is Howard Wang, who has appeared in My Hero Academia and RWBY. Kamran Nikhad has worked in anime but is more well-known for his various roles in video games like Marvel Avengers Academy, and Paladins. Ben Phillips and Kent Williams are prolific voice actors with over 200 credits to each of their names. Lastly, Jim Fordona returns to the Ultraman franchise after having previously been the English dub voice for Yutaka Takenouchi’s character in Shin Ultraman. At this time, Bryson Baugus, known for playing Shoyo Hinata in Haikyu!! was also announced to be the timecoder for Okatron 5000’s dub.

English-dubbed episodes of Ultraman Z air on YouTube every Saturday and Sunday at 11:00 p.m. (JST) since April 8th.
