Gridman Universe Trailer and Key Visual Revealed

Tsuburaya has revealed the first full trailer and a new key visual for the upcoming anime film, Gridman Universe, a continuation of Studio Trigger’s SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon.

Early in the morning on February 10th, 2023, Tsuburaya Productions shared the first full-length trailer and a new key visual (pictured above) for the upcoming anime film by Studio Trigger, Gridman Universe.

Based on the 1993 tokusatsu series, Gridman The Hyper Agent, this new film continues the story of SSSS.Gridman‘s Gridman Alliance and SSSS.Dynazenon‘s Gauma Team.

Now free from the threat of Akane Shinjo’s kaiju and the responsibility of hosting Gridman in his body, life seems peaceful for Yuta Hibiki and his friends. Yuta even considers confessing his romantic feelings for Rikka Takarada.

However, everything changes when a kaiju suddenly appears once more in the city of Tsutsujidai along with Dyna Dragon and the remaining members of Gauma Team. In order to face a new threat, Gridman, the Neon Genesis Junior High Students, Gridknight, and Anosillus the 2nd reunite with their allies in an action-packed crossover adventure to save the heroes’ home universes from destruction.

All returning characters will be reprising their roles for the film, and the theme song will be “uni-verse” by Masayoshi Oishi.

Among the products announced to coincide with the film, Tsuburaya has announced a partnership with LINE to release extremely limited edition NFTs of Gridman’s new form featured in the movie. (Pictured below except for additional effects the final product will have) Additional NFTs featuring Yuta, Utsumi, Rikka, Calibur, Max, Borr, Vit, and Gridman’s new form from SSSS.Gridman will each be sold in larger quantities.

Notably, NFTs have come under fire for negative environmental impacts since they gained popularity in 2021. Additionally, many alleged scams involving NFTs have already been reported.

As was previously revealed, Gridman Universe releases in Japan on March 24th. No wider international release has yet been announced.
