Ultraman Tiga Removed From Platforms In China

Ultraman Tiga has been removed from platforms in China over violence concerns.

The popular 1996 Japanese television series Ultraman Tiga has been removed across multiple video platforms in China. The series was removed, along with a number of other children’s television shows, from platforms as a result of violence concerns in children’s media on September 24, 2021.

A report given by the National Radio and Television Administration on September 24 stated that they would be banning children’s media that displayed any form of “violence, blood, or vulgarity” in an aim to promote healthy content for the growth of children.

Longtime fans of Ultraman Tiga took to social media to express their dismay over the show’s removal due to the character’s high popularity.
