The story of V-Cinext Kaizoku Sentai 10 Gokaiger is finally revealed, and several tokusatsu alumni will make guest appearances.
2011-2012’s Super Sentai series Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger celebrates its ten-year anniversary with the V-Cinext Kaizoku Sentai 10 Gokaiger. Pictures of new power ups and news of its theme song have been given, but now the story behind the movie has finally been revealed.
The 35th Super Sentai is an unbelievable team that uses the powers of previous teams to fight. They are the Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. Though they came to Earth seeking the “greatest treasure in the universe”, they protected the planet from the invading Space Empire Zangyack and came to believe that the Earth was worth protecting.
Ten years have passed since then. The public gambling activity “Super Sentai Derby Colosseum” has been established on Earth and has been hugely popular across every generation. Though the many Super Sentai heroes had been the targets of bets, they cooperate with the Colosseum project so long as the money is used for defending the Earth. However, one Super Sentai could not be contacted. That team had disbanded and each member gone on their separate paths. It was during this time that Captain Marvelous appeared on Earth, issuing a challenge to the Colosseum’s administration. But standing opposite from Marvelous is Gai Ikari whose views match those of the Colosseum’s.
Is it the Gokaigers or the people of Earth that are changed from this passage of time? How will Joe, Luka, Doc, and Ahim respond to these circumstances? After ten years, an extraordinary battle is about to begin…!

Several guests appear in the cast of Kaizoku Sentai 10 Gokaiger, many of which may be familiar to tokusatsu fans.
The Colosseum’s announcers Akiro Masukoda and Hiroya Matsumoto are played by Kei Hosogai and Hiroya Matsumoto, respectively. Kei Hosogai formally played Marvelous’s rival Basco ta Jolokia in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger and currently plays Ignis in Ultraman Trigger. Super Sentai Goodwill Ambassador Hiroya Matsumoto (playing himself) has appeared multiple times across the Super Sentai series, namely as:
- Tsubasa Ozu / MagiYellow in Mahou Sentai Magiranger
- Masato Jin / BeetBuster in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, and
- alien Minato Hoshi in Uchu Sentai Kyuranger.
Playing the ring announcer is veteran tokusatsu actor Tomokazu Seki. He lent his voice to various Gokaiger devices such as the Mobilates and their weapons, but he has also voiced Himitsu Sentai Gorenger‘s AkaRenger on multiple occasions. He voices AkaRenger and plays Taishi Manaka in the currently airing drama The High School Heroes.
Kaisei Kawano has not previously appeared in a tokusatsu series, but his role is no less important. Kawano will play the developer of the Derby Colosseum system and scientist Niwano. Much is still shrouded in mystery, but his role will be key to the story of 10 Gokaiger.
Jun Yamazaki, another tokusatsu alumnae, will play the National Defense Minister. Previously, he played Toru Hojo in Kamen Rider Agito. The Minister’s close associates are also no strangers to tokusatsu programs. Hattori is played by Tsuyoshi Matsubara, the singer of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger‘s opening theme. Rikako Sakata, known for having played Miu Kazashiro in Kamen Rider Fourze, plays Ayanokoji in Kaizoku Sentai 10 Gokaiger. Metal Yoshida plays a third associate, Horiuchi. Yoshida is best known to tokusatsu fans for playing Oren Pierre Alfonzo / Kamen Rider Bravo in Kamen Rider Gaim.
But the guest list continues with “Super Sentai legends”! Hailing from Mashin Sentai Kiramager is Kohei Shoji reprising his role as Takamichi Crystalia / Kiramai Silver. Topping off the guest list are Kaoruko Ishii and Rara Shimizu, returning to tokusatsu after seven years. Previously, they played the child versions of Mio / ToQ 3gou and Kagura / ToQ 5gou respectively in Ressha Sentai ToQger. In this V-Cinext, they will play high schoolers enjoying the Derby Colosseum.

EDIT: Previously, a description of Kaisei Kawano’s role was missing from the article and is now included. Additionally, Mio was incorrectly written as ToQ 4gou. The article now correctly lists her as ToQ 3gou.
