Cast Interview

How did you feel when you were chosen for your role?

Yuwa Higa (YH): I was so happy and surprised that I cried. I heard that my Okinawan dance and vocals teachers cried too. I’m here thanks to everyone who has supported me, and I won’t forget these feelings.

Kanna Sato (KS): I was so surprised and overjoyed, I couldn’t speak. I’ll work hard as thanks to many, many people and so I don’t forget these feelings.

What was it like to first play your roles?

YH: Honoka is always bright but rushes into things headfirst. But that’s just like me, so she’s easy to play!

KS: Koyuki Aoba is a calm and level-headed girl. She’s very different when she fights. While she’s very cool when she fights, it was very hard to play such a drastic change.

What were your impressions of your transformations?

YH: This is the first time in my life that I’ve gotten to wear such a cool outfit, so I’m going to work really hard! My favorite part of the outfits is the controller on the chest piece because it has our individual symbols on them. I like the makeup too because I can experience a different me!

KS: The skirt is fluffy and the cloth and makeup are sparkly, so it’s a cute look. It’s leaves an entirely different impression from those before, so I hope you’ll enjoy the current heroine outfits.

What do you want people to notice?

YH: For places like my roll call and transformation scene, the choreography makes use of my flexibility, but I really want everyone to see this part*. I also like my line “Burning brightly!” a lot. Please try saying it for yourselves!
*NOTE: Please watch the video at 1:12 for the motion Yuwa is referring to.

KS: I like the part where I kick in mid-air during my roll call. I like it because it’s really cool!

What impressions have filming left on you?

YH: There are scenes such as shadowboxing, kendo, and karate in the show, and they’ve taught me that you have to practice hard from the very start. There’s actually a lot of shadowboxing in the show, so please keep an eye out for it!

KS: The biggest impression left on me was when we started filming. I wasn’t sure if I could really do it, but the staff made me smile and the other members taught me many things. Thanks to them, I wasn’t nervous anymore and could finish the filming.

What’s your favorite item?

YH: I like my transformation device, the KiraPower Phone! It has Cat and Star Modes among many others, so please try them out!

KS: Mine is the KiraPower Ribbon. I really like how cute the designs on it are.

What are your impressions of Director Takashi Miike?

YH: He was a lot of help with the different attacks, but when he used the KiraPower Ribbon and made me laugh, he seemed like a really funny person.

KS: I wondered what kind of person Director Miike was, but after talking to him, I learned that he’s very kind and funny, and he passionately gives direction.

A message for the kids

YH: The transformation sequences and attack scenes are so cool, and there are lots of other new and interesting things, so please watch Bittomo x Heroine Kirameki Powers!

KS: The songs are really cute, and the dance choreography is cool! Please sing and dance along while you watch in front of the TV.

Final thoughts on being in Kirameki Powers

YH: I’ll do my best playing Honoka Akahoshi brightly so I can be someone everyone can look up to. Thank you!

KS: I want to make the show something that viewers can enjoy together and can make them smile naturally. Please give us your support!
