Tsuburaya Productions has teamed up with artists at Gurihiru Studios to produce new Ultraman merchandise based on various Ultramen and kaiju.
Tsuburaya Productions announced on July 10th, 2021, that it is working with Japanese art studio Gurihiru Studios to draw Ultraman heroes and kaiju in their art style. Items include key holders, buttons and clear files.
The art is of famous Ultraman characters like Ultraman Gaia, King Joe and Ultraman Belial.
Tsuburaya Productions is selling the merchandise through its online store, Tsuburaya Store. Items will be sold for between ¥550 and ¥880. While the Gurihiru Studios items are only available in Japan, Tsuburaya wrote in a press release that other items in the will be sold internationally.
Gurihiru Studios has worked on American comic books like Power Pack and Avatar: The Last Airbender. In a Tsuburaya press release, Gurihiru wrote that they are excited to work draw Ultraman for Tsuburaya.
“Since we were children, we’ve admired and felt close to Ultraman. We’re delighted to get involved with Ultraman now as adults. When we were contacted about it, it was like a dream. We’re overjoyed to draw a Japanese hero that we’ve always admired, and we enjoyed drawing every character.”
