Tokusatsu Alumni Cast in Niji-iro Tōgarashi Stageplay
The released casting information for the stageplay adaptation of Niji-iro Tōgarashi features two tokusatsu alumni.
Based on the manga by Mitsuru Adachi, Niji-iro Tōgarashi has been adapted to a stageplay. The stage play will run for 16 shows from August 28 to September 5, 2021, in Ikebukuro’s Owl Spot theater.
Set in a world similar to Japan in the Edo period, Niji-iro Tōgarashi chronicles the adventures of seven siblings.
“After the death of his mother, Shichimi sets out to join his step-brothers and -sister who live together in Karakuri Tenement, a place provided by the father they have never met. He finds out that each of them had different mothers (all of whom have died), but were fathered by the same man. Not long after Shichimi’s arrival, the siblings decide to journey to visit the graves of each of their mothers. On this journey, they encounter many dangers.”
Two tokusatsu alumni have been cast in the play. Atsushi Arai will play Asajirō, a wandering artist, and Kenji Matsuda will play Okugawa Akimitsu, shogun of the Okugawa clan. Arai played Miharu Minato (Kamen Rider Aqua) in Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Fourze & OOO: Movie War Mega Max. Matsuda played Wataru Shijima in the Garo: Makai Senki; he has also appeared in several Kamen Rider shows. He played Zanki in Kamen Rider Hibiki, and Jiro in Kamen Rider Kiva.
