Hiroaki Iwanaga Shares Condolences For Berserk Manga Author Kentaro Miura
The Kamen Rider OOO actor, Hiroaki Iwanaga, shares his thoughts on working with the late Kentaro Miura and his time voicing Guts in Berserk
With the passing of manga author Kentaro Miura this past week, actor Hiroaki Iwanaga made a post on his Instagram account to share his thoughts on being cast as Guts and meeting Miura. The post reads as follows:
About 10 years ago, I was an amateur voice actor, and he accepted me.
When I first met (Miura) at the preview of the first movie in the trilogy, I was anxious, although I did my best despite my poor performance. “Guts was so good. Thank you for playing this role.” That was too high praise for me.
I met him several times after that, and he smiled and talked to me kindly and relieved my nervousness.
Being able to be a part of this historic work, I will remember it for the rest of my life.
I loved sensei’s depiction of Guts, who was at the hands of tragic fate and was torn to pieces, but never stopped moving forward.
Thank you for bringing the wonderful work that is Berserk into this world.
With respect and gratitude, I would like to extend my heartfelt tribute to sensei Kentaro Miura.
