Ultraman Trigger Female Lead Portrayed by Runa Toyoda Announced

The lead female role for Ultraman Trigger has been announced by Tsubaraya Productions.

On April 21, it was announced by Tsubaraya Productions that the female lead role in the upcoming Ultraman season titled Ultraman Trigger will be played by Runa Toyoda.

Toyoda was recently in another tokusatsu production playing the child version of Akiho Ikematau from Mashin Sentai Kiramager. In Trigger, she will portray Yuna Shizuma, a 17 year old member of the expert team GUTS-Select. While she is a regular high school student by day, she will be considered a heroine outside school walls.

The information given about Shizuma’s character so far is as follows: “The esteemed daughter of the Sizuma Foundation, she is a talented young woman who has received a privileged education from a young age. As the instructor for new GUTS-Select recruit Kengo, Yuna will spend a lot of her time working alongside him.”

When asked about playing Yuna Shizuma, Toyoda responded, “Yuna is a bright and ingenious girl, and yet she has a strong sense of conviction within her. She and I are similar in some ways, and I hope to discover more of the qualities that we share as her character develops.” She went on to thank fans for their support and is hopeful that everyone enjoys the new Ultraman season.

Ultraman Trigger is expected to start on July 10th at 9AM JST and will air subsequently every Saturday at 9AM.
