The former Ressha Sentai ToQGer star had been hospitalized due to acute myocarditis.
Following this, Jun Shison had stayed at the hospital for three weeks, and was recently provisionally discharged. Shison has subsequently released a statement on Twitter regarding his recent stay and current condition:
I have made everyone very worried. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
Recently, I was able to leave the hospital for the time being. I can return to my life and I am slowly recovering. I suffered from acute myocarditis and pericarditis. I thought I just had a cold, but gradually it became difficult to breath, my chest hurt, and when I went to the hospital I was suffering heart failure. From there I was doing various tests and spent a few days fighting in the ICU to keep my condition from getting worse, but I was able to avoid my condition worsening due to the various treatments I had. I was a little late in going to the hospital, and I still feel a chill down my spine when I think about what would have happened if I had put up with it longer.
While I was at the hospital, it felt like my heart was breaking many times, but I was encouraged by the messages and kindness of my family, friends, loved ones, and everyone who supported me. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved in my work, and the office for their efforts in making last minute adjustments and considerations for various things due to this matter.
I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all the medical professionals who have been kind and supportive, and treated and cared for me in difficult situations. I am very thankful to all of you.
There are still days where I can’t let my guard down, but I will take it one step at a time while slowly getting used to my body’s condition. I’m very happy to be alive now. I look forward to seeing you all again.”
