Hayate Ichinose will play a samurai in a combination period to modern-day TV drama currently airing in Japan.
On January 20, it was announced that Hayate Ichinose would join the cast of the new TV drama Edomoiselle which started airing at the beginning of this year. The show, based on a manga by Kirie Edo published in 2013, revolves around Senka, a girl from the Edo period somehow finding herself in modern times, played by Yui Okada.
Hayate Ichinose is remembered by most tokusatsu fans as Kou/RyuSoulRed in Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger, the 2019 season of Super Sentai. In this series, he plays Chobe, a samurai also hailing from the Edo period who winds up in the present day just like Senka. He, along with the rest of the cast, is expected to end up in a “five-sided romantic relationship” as the series goes on.
Edomoiselle currently has new episodes running on NipponTV and YomiuriTV every Thursday. Ichinose’s character debuts in episode three, which aired on January 20.
