Godzilla and Hamtaro Celebrate 20th Anniversary of Godziham
The official Godzilla and Hamtaro websites are celebrating 20 years of “Godziham-kun” with special merchandise and contests.
To celebrate 20 years since the creation of the Godzilla and Hamtaro collaboration, Godziham, the official Godzilla Store has released a new line of goods showcasing a revival of the character.
Godziham was created in 2001, when Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack played in theaters alongside Tottoko Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Land Daibouken. A special Godziham figure was distributed to movie-goers, and since then, the character has seen continued popularity on social media.
As part of the Godziham 20th Anniversary Project, fans can purchase “Godziham-kun” t-shirts, tote bags, pass cases, mini towels, keychains, and clear files at the Godzilla online store.
The Hamtaro official website announced that a duplicate of the original Godziham artwork drawn by American comic book artist Matt Frank would be available for purchase on Godziham’s birthday, December 15, 2020.
Godziham also has an official Twitter account, where a “Find Godziham-kun!” campaign will run from November 3, 2020 – February 28, 2021. 20 people who submit a picture of an original Godziham they received at the theater with the hashtag #ゴジハムくん復活 (Godziham-kun resurrection) will be selected by lottery to win special prizes.
